Acknowledging Support in the Fort Frances and Rainy River RegionPublished on April 25, 2020
Across Fort Frances and Rainy River regions of the northwest, individuals and businesses are stepping up to help make a difference for those who are on the front lines battling the COVID-19 situation. I want to thanks some of those who have shown their support.
These include, but are not limited to:
Riversedge Development who have assisted on many fronts including a large donation of PPE
Canadian Tire Fort Frances who have donated hand sanitizer to Riverside Hospital and other community partners.
Couchichig First Nations Fire Department has provided wonderful support including loaves of homemade bannock with stops at Laverendrye Hospital, Rainycrest, Fort Frances OPP, Treaty Three Police, Rainy River Paramedics and the Fort Frances Firefighters Local 1012.
Woods quality baking in Rainy River who have been providing the Rainy River Health Centre with fresh baked goods and their famous cinnamon buns.
The Salvation Army and Good Samaritan Society provided letters of encouragement and tea to residents of Rainycrest, along with chocolates for staff.
Other local businesses in Fort Frances with donations to staff include Subway, Safeway, Tim Hortons, Macdonalds and Tess's Kitchen.
Seven Generations Institue in Fort Frances has been producing PPE with their 3D printers.
And a special shout out across the river to Cantilever Distillery for providing hand sanitizer to meet the needs of many in their time of need across Northwestern Ontario.
Together you are all making a difference at this challenging time.
I/we appreciate you.
