Engaging with Business Leaders in Kenora-Rainy RiverPublished on January 22, 2021
I had the opportunity to join with small business leaders across Northwestern Ontario on Thursday for a review of the province's plan to assist small businesses affected by the most recent lockdown across Ontario. I want to thank Allyson Pele, Manager of the Northwest Business Centre, for working with my Director of Constituency Operations - Lorna Wood, to bring together folks from across the region that were seeking further clarity and information related to applying for the three grant opportunities. We entertained questions from the group related to the three areas of support - 1. Grants up to $20,000 per business who have had to close or severely restrict business during this recent lockdown - 2. Property Tax and Energy Bill rebates during the restricted times - 3. Main Street Relief Support grants of $1000 for businesses needing PPE with 2-9 employees. I want to thank those who attended for your dialogue and feedback on this and other support programs that our government has been providing. For those who are seeking more information you can apply at https://www.ontario.ca/page/businesses-get-help-covid-19-costs . Ongoing updates and further information is updated daily at my MPP website www.gregrickfordmpp.ca . Further inquiries can be directed to my constituency staff - their contact information is on the website.
Thanks again to Allyson Pele for her efforts at the Northwest Business Centre, funded by the Ontario government and offering programs and services to entrepreneurs of all ages and stages across the two districts of Kenora and Rainy River.
It is an hounour and a privilege to serve the constituents of Kenora-Rainy River. Be safe.
