Take Out Wednesdays - Supporting Local Businesses

Published on April 16, 2020

Wednesdays are National Take Out Days

Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and the cornerstone of our communities. Across Northwestern Ontario we realize this as our reality. Our cities, towns, townships and business speckled throughout our rural areas are critical to our northern culture.

COVID-19 has taken a toll on small businesses across our province. Restaurants and hospitality providers have been some of the hardest hit.

Some of these establishments have been part of our communities for ages. They are places were people come together and make great memories. These places to gather and meet and greet have traditionally been places that have helped been a pathway to building community.

As Ontario comes together to combat COVID-19, businesses and organizations are coming up with remarkable ways to show their support and express true #OntarioSpirit, in the face of these challenging times.

The #TakeoutDay campaign is a great way to generate needed business for local restaurants. We can show support for our hard-working entrepreneurs and we can all come together to share a little bit of #OntarioSpirit.

During the good times, our local restaurants keep us fed and give us a place to gather as family and friends. Whether that is in the peak of summer tourist season, or in those off-season months - these establishments are our constant in bringing people together and helping maintain community spirit.

During hard times we have an opportunity to thank these members of our community by taking part in #TakeoutDay - Wednesdays...and every day.

Let's show them we care.
