Women Abuse Prevention Month

Published on November 03, 2020

The safety and security of all Ontarians is a top priority for our government. The prevalence of violence against women and girls in Canada is unacceptable. We must confront and eliminate the root causes so women can live their lives free of violence. We are investing approximately $172 million in violence prevention and community services that truly support women and their families. In June, to combat the impact of COVID-19 on women and children fleeing violence, our government made an additional $1 million-dollar investment to help frontline agencies adapt to COVID-19 remote service delivery and ensure continued operation for Ontarians. This is on top of our Residential Relief Fund for shelter spaces and other regulatory changes we made to ensure flexibility in staffing.
